Creating the environment
We all play different roles in our environments; what’s your role?
Humans tend to join many ecosystems, staying in some longer than others and leaving some quicker than we entered. Although there is always a driving force that would either keep one present or watch one go.
Moss is the green blanket of the forest, providing its environment the ability to soak up mountain moisture and rainfall, feeding thousands of plants the water they would need to thrive.
Wildfires are the landscapers that come only when an ecosystem is overtaken with low-growing underbrush that strips the soil of all its nutrition; they clean the forest floor, allowing the sunlight to once again nourish the soil.
You see, moss and wildfires are alike!
They can grow an entire ecosystem from just their existence, the only difference is that one stays and the other goes. They both have the ability to create change if still present in the ecosystem or if no longer there.
Are you moss, or are you a wildfire?
We all can agree that we have probably been both at times.
I have been a wildfire; I have seen my environment full of toxic people that were not there to support me, they were there to take from me, bring me down, and create a sense of doubt in the person I knew I was. They had created a dry enough environment that one day I set fire and walked away from the environment that gave me nothing in return.
I have been moss; I have seen my environment full of positive people, in equal measures of nutrients to my water. I have been around people who truly gave me the support I needed, creating growth within myself, and helping me grow into the person I now am today. They were able to nurture me enough that one day I was able to nurture them and make them thrive too.
You see, we all play different roles in our environments, yet you must understand that you are the driving force; you get to choose if you will be the moss or the wildfire.
You choose your element, but always remember that growth can happen in not only your ecosystem but the ones you decided to leave; change is bound to happen.
How will you create your change?
