How one event can change your life

Most college students can’t find the time to do the things that make them happy; they are too worried about what is happening around them. As a college student, a lot of time is spent balancing homework assignments, keeping track of finances, balancing relationships, prioritizing work, and finding time for yourself gets lost entirely.

Although, at DragonTree Media Group, I have had the opportunity to find that time, truly finding the balance between college norms and my happiness.

This thought process started when I was at an event with DragonTree Media Group, representing one of our clients. I found myself talking to an event attendee who made me rethink how I lived my life.

At the 16th Annual Balloon fest & Airshow, an event attendee mentioned how hot air balloons and traveling made them happy. As we got deeper in conversation, they said it’s essential at a young age to learn not to waste time; finding things that make you happy and doing those things is the key to a life well lived.

I know this may sound cliche, don’t get me wrong, it is! Although I knew they were right; with how much school, work, and events I had going on, I wasn’t focusing or even thinking about what made me happy. I forgot the most basic life lesson: life is short, and we should live life to the fullest; after that conversation, my perspective of how I was living changed.

Moving forward, I prioritize my happiness over all aspects of my life. I still put time aside for classes, school work, and my internship because those are all important to me.

Yet, I now make time for new adventures which makes me happy, and maybe I’ll even go to a few more hot air balloon festivals; the people there seem to have found the secret of living a happier life.

Hopefully, you too can stumble upon a hot air balloon festival!
